Today's notebooks are powerful enough and feature packed enough to completely replace your desktop computer. While a laptop has become a ubiquitous accessory for modern life, the actual process of choosing the right model can take some serious time and research. In the article, let me tell you How to buy laptops or notebooks and Where to buy laptops or notebooks.
How to buy laptops or notebooks?
The most highly evolved species of computer, the laptops allow you to work without being tethered to an office. Portability and good performance make laptops an essential part of the daily lives of millions of people, from college students to business travelers. Even the least-expensive of today's laptops are well equipped for everyday work. Before you buy a notebook, consider these key buying factors:
Laptop Price
Laptops are still expensive compared with desktop computers. If you buy a notebook computer, you need to choose one that has exactly all the features that you want.
Laptop Display Type
Notebook screens use LCD, so you want to be sure you choose a notebook computer that has an active matrix display (also known as TFT), which gives a brighter display which can be viewed from an angle.
Laptop Connectivity
Be sure the notebooks you choose has an integrated network interface card, docking port, and/or S-video out port if you need these kinds of laptops connectivity.
Laptop Power
You'll need a notebook computer with a Pentium 3 processor or equivalent running 750 MHz or faster to run standard business applications. And the notebook will have to have at least 256 MB to run Windows XP or Mac OS X.
Laptop Battery Life
While notebooks promise mobility, it's not unrestricted mobility. If you plan to use your notebook computer "unplugged" frequently, pay close attention to the notebook's battery average run time. Some notebooks only have a battery average run time of 2 hours, which means you could be spending a lot of time waiting for your notebook to recharge. Look for notebook computers that offer dual battery options.

Can Johnson succeed in Greece?

THESSALONIKI, Greece -- Like most Greek cities, Thessaloniki has always welcomed strangers with open arms. The locals have thrived on the constant flow of goods and information from east to west and back again, taking advantage of their ability to adapt to changing environments and integrate foreign influences. It all gives Greece's second city a unique cosmopolitanism far removed from the brutal sprawl of Athens.
Named for Alexander the Great's half-sister, Thessaloniki is alive, beautiful and energetic. Some of the finest Byzantine churches outside of Istanbul give Egnatias Street a kind of glow, as do the lovely lighter-skinned Macedonian women. On clear mornings, Mount Olympus is visible to the south, and in the evenings, the Turkish-influenced restaurants buzz.
So there's the good news for Eddie Johnson, who just joined local club Aris on loan from English Premier League side Fulham: If he had to be banished to the provinces, he could've done worse than coming here. Much worse.

'Greek Beckham' quits reformer's helm at AEK Athens
ATHENS - Greece's version of David Beckham, former star striker Demis Nikolaidis this weekend announced he was quitting a four-year effort to clean up finances and curb hooliganism at Athens powerhouse AEK Athens.
Nikolaidis, who had a rocky relationship with AEK's organised supporters after he fronted a group of alleged club hooligans three years ago, quit on Sunday when the team was booed after a narrow 2-1 home victory over Asteras Tripolis.
‘I had hoped to change the mentality of the fans but I did not succeed,’ the former AEK idol told reporters.
‘I cannot be the chairman of a team booed by its fans after it scores.’
Nikolaidis had been hailed as a breath of fresh air in Greece's violence-ridden football scene after he spearheaded an investor effort to rescue AEK from bankruptcy in 2004.
Within a year, he ordered the photos of alleged AEK hooligans published in an unprecedented step to secure arrests after a serious clash between fans and police during a match in Livadia, central Greece.
The move was a casus belli for organised fans and Nikolaidis' stock later fell among supporters in general when AEK failed to win any titles under his chairmanship.
Nikolaidis had originally stated his intention to quit in the summer.
Among Greece's top strikers, with a glorious career at AEK followed by a brief stint at Atletico Madrid, Nikolaidis was dubbed 'the Greek Beckham' by international media after his marriage to popular singer Despina Vandi in 2003.
He retired the following year.

Fifa investigates Greece 'lasers'
Fifa has opened disciplinary proceedings against Greece over the alleged use of lasers by fans during a World Cup qualifier.
Greek supporters are reported to have tried to distract Israel goalkeeper Dudu Aouate with laser beams during last week's 2-1 win in Heraklion.
"We are aware of the reports and we have started disciplinary proceedings," a Fifa spokesman told Reuters.
Greece are top of Group Two after six games, with Israel back in fourth.

World Cup Qualifying Preview: Israel - Greece
Goal.com's Peter Katsiris previews the upcoming World Cup qualifying match between Israel and Greece...
Mar 27, 2009 10:49:13 AM
Gan plays hosts to a table-topping battle this weekend as Israel hosts Greece, with the former bottling aspirations of overtaking their guests for top spot in Group 2; however, the EURO 2004 winners will be keen to put up a fight in the first of a doubleheader with Israel...
The preliminary round might just be reaching its interval, but Saturday night holds great importance for either side’s hopes of reaching the World Cup Finals in just over a year’s time. With one-point separating the sides, a tactical battle is expected ahead of the biggest challenge for either side thus far.
Home Advantage
Israel’s hopes of qualifying for their first World Cup finals in forty years will depend heavily on their form at home, as the national team’s loyal supporters have the potential to sway the game.
Knowing both sides will meet again in the coming week, this match holds a must-win feeling for the hosts. It will also be a time to rebound for Dror Kashtan’s side after a disappointing draw with Latvia in their last World Cup qualifier. They remain the only undefeated side in the group, and can take confidence from their recent friendly win over Hungary.
On the contrary, Israel has struggled against Greece historically, having collected just two wins compared to Greece’s seven. With that poor form against their Balkan guests, Israel’s ambitions will be hinted with what appears to be a bright future for Israeli football.
Restoring Pride
Greek Independence Day was celebrated earlier in the week, but pride in the Greek national team has been lacking in recent months. Greece will be urged to win back their fans with a strong showing on Saturday.
Win-less since their defeat to Switzerland in a World Cup Qualifier in Piraeus, Greece’s lacklustre form is a worrying point for manager Otto Rehhagel. A potent attack has lacked success in front of goal, while troubles in the backline have stemmed from inconsistency; yet Greece has still managed to hold down top spot.
A resolute Greece squad must be in attendance if the Galanoleuki are to withstand Israel’s pressure, and remain frontrunners for next year’s World Cup. A traditional defensive formation will be the key, but a dose of youth might be necessary to keep pace with a sharp Israeli midfield.
PREDICTION
With top spot hanging in the balance both sides have their sights set firmly on securing a win. Israel’s passionate crowd gives them the edge, but an experienced Greece shouldn’t be disregarded. A low-scoring draw could be what both sides are destined come kick-off.
Israel 1-1 Greece

Villarreal rallies for 1-1 draw with Panathinaikos
Giuseppe Rossi scored an equalizing goal from the penalty spot Wednesday to give Villarreal a 1-1 draw with Panathinaikos in the first knockout round of the Champions League.
Robert Pires was taken down by midfielder Jakub Wawrzyniak in the 66th minute and Rossi, an American-born Italian, converted the penalty.
Giorgos Karagounis had given the Greek team the lead in the 59th, sending a shot from 25 meters (yards) that tipped off the hand of Villarreal goalkeeper Diego Lopez before bouncing into the net off the crossbar.
Panathinaikos still leaves Spain with the advantage of an away goal heading into the second leg in Athens on March 10.
Villarreal dominated possession for almost the entire match, and despite the two goals in the second half, it was the first 45 minutes that saw the most chances.
"We had our chances and we should have scored one or two more goals," Villarreal coach Manuel Pellegrini said. "We're going to Athens to win."
Karagounis, however, nearly stole a goal at the other end with a long free kick than went right into the hands of Lopez. Although it appeared to be an easy save, Lopez stepped back into the goal after catching the ball, and Panathinaikos midfielder Gilberto Silva appealed for a goal. Replays appeared to show Silva was correct.
Panathinaikos' sloppy defense early in the first half gave away three free kicks and a corner in a four-minute spell. Luckily for the Greek team, Villarreal was unable to make anything come from its chances.
In the second half, Wawrzyniak nearly gave Panathinaikos a 2-0 lead four minutes after Karagounis scored, but Lopez was able to block the shot with his body.
Rossi sent a powerful shot just wide in the 88th, and Santi Cazorla had his effort tipped wide in injury time as Villarreal continued to press for a winning goal.
Panathinaikos captain Giannis Goumas was given a yellow card for taking down Rossi in the 38th and will miss the return leg in Athens.
"We are not the (favorites)," Ten Cate said. "Villarreal are a better team and they play better football, so we have to keep playing the way we played tonight."
Panathinaikos, which had lost on all nine prior visits to Spain, last reached the Champions League quarterfinals in 2002.
"We have another game to play against them and it won't be easy," Silva said. "It's up to us to do our job properly and get the result. Today's game gave us a lift."

Greek Player Commits Suicide After Omission from Squad
A Greek soccer player committed suicide after being left out of the squad for a domestic cup game with Olympiakos Piraeus, police said on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old, Yiannis Koskiniatis, jumped off a 12-metre cliff after being omitted from third division Diagoras Rhodes's squad to face the national champions in a fourth round match.
Police said the midfielder had left a note at the top of the cliff that read: "Being left out of the squad was a great injustice. I cannot take it any more."
Koskiniatis had played 61 times for Diagoras, scoring four goals, but was sidelined all season following an operation on his injured left leg.
Local media reported that the club had sent him for psychological help. He went missing around midday when his team mates met for their pre-match lunch.
His motorbike was found at about 1700 local time in the Profitis Ilias area just outside Rhodes town. The news was relayed to the Diagoras players during a brief delay in the match, which they lost 3-2.

After 4 1/2 years as president of AEK, Dennis Nikolaidis announced his resignation after the end of a sensational win over Asteras Tripolis. Even with AEK's win, the fans were not on the side of their home team. They began rioting and aggressively attacking other fans and the streets of Thessaloniki.
Speaking at a post-match press conference, Nikolaidis was quoted by Sportnet as he announced his resignation after a negative reaction from the home fans in the wake of the victory.
"I wasn’t expecting those reactions from the crowd." Nikolaidis said.
"I don’t want to be the president of a club where the fans demonstrate against the team.
"This is my last day as the president of AEK.
"I don’t have anything else to offer to the club.
"My decision is final."
Earlier this year, Nikolaidis had announced his decision to leave the club in May of 2009.

Greece On The Defensive
Despite their 2-1 home loss to Switzerland during Wednesday’s crucial World Cup Qualifier, Greece remain first in their group - a position that manager Otto Rehhagel has called on his team to defend.
he Greeks found Ottmar Hitzfeld’s supremely organized Switzerland team difficult to break down in Piraeus, as they stumbled to yet another home loss at a crucial qualifying stage for an international tournament.
Quoted by the Hellenic Football Federation during his post-match press conference, Rehhagel remained fairly up-beat despite the loss.
“The team fought well but conceded at crucial stages of the match.” He said.
The home side failed to break down the Euro 2008 co-hosts during a closely-fought first-half, with Alexander Frei giving converting a 42nd minute penalty to send his side into the break 1-0 up.
“At half-time we spoke with the players and agreed to go on an all out attack, to take risks, and that’s how we got our equalizer.” Rehhagel said.
Blaise N’Kufo struck a fatal blow to any hopes of a dramatic turn-around at the Giorgios Karaiskakis Stadium however, capitalizing on an Avraam Papadopoulos defensive error to score the winning goal for his side in the 78th minute.
“The second goal arrived at a bad time for us, when our defense shouldn’t have been open.” Said Rehhagel.
Nonetheless, the German manager issued a rallying call to his players ahead of their next competitive encounter against second-placed Israel in March.
“We are still first and we need to defend our position.”
