Round 3, U/21: SMFC 1 v 0 Western Suburbs SC

U/21 FOXTEL CUP – Round 3

3 March 2008

SMFC gets its first three points

On March 2, 2008 under 21 SMFC and Western Suburbs gave the spectators an interesting game for the only reason that the visitors pressure game in the second half proved to be entertaining in their quest to find an equalizer.

In general, the game was not high in standard as many mistakes occurred for both teams. At the beginning of the first half, SMFC dominated the possession and created a couple of clear chances to score. The only goal scored in this half was by Robbie Wyne who converted from close range.

In the second half, the Western Suburbs team dominated and created many chances to equalize, but somehow they were unlucky.

After a long time out of the game, due to a very bad injury, Reardo LUKA was introduced for SMFC. He only played the last ten minutes of the game but still not fit enough to contribute at his best ability for his team.

The match ended 1:0 in favor of the home team, which gave the SMFC boys their first three points of the season, an enjoyable win for the SMFC supporters and a good gift for the new coaches of the squad.
