The picture says it all.

Kim Yuna of South Korea breaks the ice--after not succumbing to the "pressure of an entire country on her shoulders".  Breaking the ice is the least of it, Kim Yuna was the winner of GOLD for the women's long program of figure skatingand earned a world record of the highest scoring routine *ever of 150.6. No one has come close to the superstar skater's high score.

Kim's number one rival, Japan's Mao Asada did not walk away empty handed--she became the first woman to land two triple axels at the Olympics acquiring the SILVER medal of the evening.

Last but not least, the lovely Joanie Rochette of Canada stole BRONZE after an emotional performance.  Joanie's mother shockinly passed away a couple days before her short program performance--meanwhile, Joanie skated in her mother's spirit.

Congratulations to these female superior athelets, setting the bar for future Olympian figure skaters!
