A NIGHT AT THE KOUZINA

  Enjoy an evening of Greek Chic. Fourteen top chefs from the Chicago area will be creating delicious, tasting portions of Mediterranean influenced cuisine in a walk-around food tasting to benefit the National Hellenic Museum. The event is taking place on Thursday, September 17, 6-9 pm, at the award-winning River East Art Center. Favorite, traditional Greek food will be also be served by a variety of Greek restaurants located in Chicago’s historic Greektown. Distinctive food products of Greece including the finest olives, olive oils, honey, and herbal products will be available to sample.  

Today’s talented Greek winemakers are crafting world-class wines that now rival the best from around the globe. Discover why the wines of Greece are garnering rave reviews with a wine tasting from the many wine regions of Greece. Additionally, a special, premium wine tastingsponsored by Diamond Importers, Incis offered. 

Internationally recognized artist, Euripides “Rip” Kastaris, will display his work. A four-time time Olympic artist, Kastaris is the first Hellenic-American to be chosen by the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) to commemorate US athletes. His artwork is available for purchase.

Participating chefs include George Bumbaris, Prairie Grass Café, Jimmy Bannos, Heaven on Seven, Carrie & Michael  Nahabedian, NAHA, Kurt Gatsos, Tavern on Rush, Kurt Guzowski, Landmark, George Alpogiannis, Spero Botsis, Kappy’s Restaurant, Paul Papadopoulos, Sweet Baby Ray’s Barbeque, David Schneider, Takim, Kosta Stylianos, Venus Restaurant, Reuben Villanuvea, Avli, Randall Jacobs, Elate, Hotel Felix, and others.

Taste of Greektown restaurants: Artopolis, Athena, Chicago Sweet Connection, Costa's, Greek Islands, OPA Estatorio, Parthenon, Roditis, and Santorini. 

Music will be provided by guest DJ Nick Hatzopoulos. The event will feature a special raffle - win tickets to Elli Kokkinou - and many other surprises. Pre-paid tickets are $65 per person by Sept 14 or $85 at the door. Premium Greek wine tasting is an additional $10 per person.
